I’m Hide, a Japan-based web and app creator who sometimes works as a nomad abroad.
When you hear the word “digital nomad,” you might picture someone very social — always networking, always surrounded by people.
But I’m quieter, more reserved. Of course, I try to push myself to connect with others, and I do have the desire to grow in that way. Still, at my core, I’d say I’m closer to what you’d call an introvert.
Even so, there are many things I genuinely enjoy while being abroad:
- Working quietly in cozy cafes
- Observing unfamiliar streets and buildings
- Meeting people and trying conversations in languages other than my own
- And capturing photos of cats I stumble upon in the city

Taking photos of cats feels almost like a dialogue that fills my heart.
Even just wandering the streets gives me small ways to enjoy myself.
Of course, there are also moments when things don’t go as planned, when I can’t quite do what I hoped.
But I’ve come to see those moments as little quests — challenges I want to take on step by step.
For me, nomad life isn’t just traveling.
It’s both quiet enjoyment and small adventures at the same time.
And as I kept taking photos of cats during my travels, I began to wonder how I could preserve them.
That question eventually led me to build an app called MeowSnap.
