About Bangkok Street Cats
Bangkok is a city where cats are part of everyday street life. You will often meet them in parks, quiet lanes, temple grounds, and outside cafés. Lumpini Park is especially well known for its cats — a walk around the lake can bring many encounters in the shade and on benches. Around Khao San Road, cats also appear in side streets during quieter daytime hours, when the backpacker strip is less crowded.
How to get to Bangkok Street Cats
Fly into Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Don Mueang Airport (DMK), then continue into the city by airport rail link, taxi, or Grab.

Visited October 2023
Visited in October 2023. Walking around the lake at Lumpini Park, I met far more cats than I expected — some napping on benches, others sleeping along the paths. It was too hot to work on a bench, but perfect for a slow cat walk. Around Khao San Road, I also met cats in quiet lanes while the sun was still high.
