About Enoshima
A small island off Fujisawa in Kanagawa, connected to the mainland by bridge. Known for Enoshima Shrine, sea views, and coastal walks. It is not a dedicated "cat island," but cats can often be spotted resting in quiet lanes away from the busiest paths — a pleasant bonus for cat lovers visiting the area.

Enoshima Spot Guide

Visited August 2026
August 12, 2026 — Enoshima after a typhoon. The weather was unstable, and heavy rain hit just as I arrived on the island. There was no sign of cats at first. I was sheltering at Shotenjima Park, almost ready to give up, when I spotted one at the far end of the park. It was some distance away, but it waited patiently until I finished taking photos — it felt almost divine.
