About Kalkan Cats
A picturesque resort on Turkey's Turquoise Coast, where the volunteer group KAPSA has cared for stray cats since 2008 — trapping, neutering, and feeding them through the winter months.
How to get to Kalkan Cats
Fly into Dalaman (DLM), then continue by shuttle or taxi to Kalkan (about 1.5–2 hours by road). Once in town, explore the harbor and old town hillside streets on foot.
The town is hilly — comfortable walking shoes and water help, especially in hot weather. Local cats are often seen near shop fronts, lanes, and the mosque area by the sea.
- Fly into Dalaman Airport (DLM), the nearest major airport, or continue by road from Antalya or Fethiye.
- From Dalaman, take a shared shuttle or taxi to Kalkan. The road journey is usually about 1.5–2 hours.
- Once you arrive in Kalkan, head toward the harbor and old town hillside streets — these are the easiest places to start.
- Walk slowly through lanes, shop fronts, and the mosque area. Local cats are often resting in shade or near feeding points.
