I made a World Cat Spots Map.

It brings together cat-related places from around the world on one map.

Houtong Cat Village in Taiwan, cat islands in Japan, temples and shrines known for maneki-neko, and more.

There are only about 30 spots for now, but I plan to add more little by little.

Why I Made the World Cat Spots Map

Since I made MeowSnap, I’ve started looking for cats more often.

When I travel, I sometimes wonder,

“Are there any cat spots near here?”

I used to search blogs and other websites to find them.

But I thought it would be nice if there were a more simple and visual way to find cat spots around the world.

So I decided to make one myself.

Something like the map in MeowSnap, but with cat spots from around the world pinned on one map.

I thought that could be fun.

It’s Not Only About Places with Cats

The map doesn’t only include places where you can actually meet cats.

It also includes cat islands, cat villages, places known for maneki-neko, and other cat-related spots.

I think of them simply as:

“Places that might make you want to go somewhere because of cats.”

There are still only about 30 spots.

That’s not very many for something called the World Cat Spots Map.

I’m adding them one by one, and when possible, I’d also like to visit the places myself.

Little by little, I hope to add more cat pins around the world.

This time, I wanted to add some of my own photos to the map, so I went to Enoshima, Gotokuji Temple, the Maneki-neko Train, Yanaka, and Imado Shrine in Tokyo.

I walked around these cat spots with MeowSnap.

I’ll write about those days on the blog little by little.

Next up is my “Low-Energy Travel Strategy” in Tokyo, with Ryogoku as my base.
